Warren County’s former county attorney makes an emotional apology during his sentencing in circuit court.
Mike Caudill appeared Before Judge John Grise this morning. He was sentenced on state charges after admitting he used $56,000 in county funds for his personal use.
Caudill was sentenced in federal court earlier this month after admitting to stealing $15,000 meant for prosecuting deadbeat dads.
Judge Grise accepted the plea agreement reached in the federal sentencing. The federal guidelines call for Caudill to serve five months in a prison medical facility, then five months home incarceration, followed by three years of probation plus full restitution.
Caudill's attorney says his client is eager to get the ordeal resolved. No word on when Caudill will begin serving his sentence. He served as Warren County Attorney for 25 years before resigning in 2004.
