The tenure of Bowling Green's embattled Chief Financial Officer Davis Cooper could end less than 24 hours from now.
WBKO has learned Cooper's firing is expected to be made official at a special-called city commission meeting at 5 tomorrow afternoon in city hall.
Cooper has admitted stealing more than $3 million from taxpayers between 1997 and February of this year.
He is expected to change his plea to guilty in a court hearing in September.
That plea agreement and his firing have been on hold while city officials negotiated with the state retirement system.
The city is set to receive cooper's $625,000 retirement payouts over the next 20 years as part of his effort to reimburse the city.
Cooper's next court appearance is set for September 6th at noon, when he is expected to change his plea to "guilty."
