While crews continue to work around the clock to repair and rebuild the Gulf Coast, several people here at home are trying to do everything they can to help make things a little easier for Katrina’s victims.

The “African American Community Relief Coalition” is working in partnerships with United Way, Salvation Army and the Housing Authority to establish a community of one.

The African American Community Relief Coalition is made up of several Bowling Green churches and organizations. Right now, this group is holding fundraisers to help those hit by Hurricane Katrina.

The coalition has already raised more than $4,000 in just this past week.
