Munfordville officials are taking steps to make sure residents aren't scammed as they rebuild their lives.
A tornado early Sunday morning destroyed more than twenty homes and caused more than six million dollars in damages.
Munfordville Mayor... John johnson... says a resolution was passed to create a "contractor registration system" for backgrounds to be checked.
He says the city is working with the Attorney General's office to protect consumers who need repair work done quickly.
The downtown-city hall area also beared a brunt of the storm.
The city's police department... And water and sewer department are among the buildings hit the hardest.
The city has signed a twelve month lease on a building across from Foodland in Munfordville.
That's where water customers are supposed to pay their water bills for the time being.
