According to Steve Carver of the Hart County Emergency Management Agency, the alarm did sound as the storm passed through.

Warren County has a similar system which has indoor warning sirens in addition to the outdoor ones.

County officials strongly urge citizens to purchase a NOA weather radio to help them monitor severe weather.

Lowry says the radio's user will receive the severe weather alert directly from the national weather service in Louisville.

Currently, Hart County has 16 of the tornado devices around the county, while Warren County has 28 in its borders.
