A Greenville teenager was killed in a one-car accident in Muhlenberg County late on May 12.

Kentucky State Police say 17-year-old Ashley D. Rushing was southbound on KY 853, when her Geo Prizm dropped off the edge of the road.

She over-corrected, lost control, crossed the road, hit an embankment and overturned.

Rushing was ejected from the car and pronounced dead at the scene.

Her passenger, 16-year-old George A. Henson, Jr. of Dunsmore, was taken to the Muhlenberg Community Hospital.

Neither teen was wearing a seat belt.

Ashley and AJ were both in one of my classes, and it just hasn't been the same. It's not really fair that the school isn't doing as much to help Ashley's family as they did for other students that passed away, in the past. Infact, we just had a moment of silence 2 days AFTER her death, and that was it. But either way Ashley will defiantly be missed and AJ has the support of Muhlenberg South High School
