Noah's Ark Investigation

An area daycare is under investigation by the Glasgow Police Department. Police say a baby was bitten and scratched by another child.

Glasgow Police responded to a call about an eight-week-old with physical injuries at Noah's Ark Childcare around 11:30 a.m. on Thursday.

This incident is leaving investigators asking questions to exactly what occurred before the child was injured.

Regina Jones says she was shocked when she received a phone call saying one of her twin babies was injured at Noah's Ark.

Regina says she saw scratches and bites on eight-week-old Mackenzie. She says: "They're everywhere, all over her, behind her ear, inside her leg, on top of her head and arms, everywhere."

Major Hugh England, with the Glasgow Police Department, says it appears the damage was caused by another child, one who is 18 months old.

England says: "The caretaker turned her back apparently to get some milk or feeding for the child, the infant. The 18-month-old who was also in the room, apparently from the investigation, the 18-month-old went to the eight-week-old and began to bite the infant and scratch it."

Police are now looking into the incident to see if it was accidental or if there are any criminal charges that could be filed. England says: "I think it's fair to say there's some accidental involvement there. However, there could be some neglect or other criminal charges that could be coming up or pending."

Major England says they are looking out for the best interest of all the children in the daycare.

As for Regina, she says her three children will not return to Noah's Ark.

WBKO contacted Noah's Ark, but were told they didn't have a comment about the incident.

According to the Office of the Inspector General, Noah's Ark received notice of immediate suspension of its license, due to an existing condition that is in opposition to the health, safety, and comfort of the children in care.
