Would you say you feel optimistic or pessimistic about your own family's financial situation?

That's the question we ask potential voters, in our new exclusive WBKO/Lexington Herald-Leader Kentucky Poll.

We phoned 600 likely Kentucky voters to find out how they feel about their economic situation.

The results show the majority of voters aren't sure how they feel.

Only 28-percent of the men who were polled say they are optimistic about their family's financial state, compared to 22-percent of women.

The majority of Democrat and Republican voters also weren't sure how the felt about their family's financial situation.

My family's economic situation is very poor. The package that we get from the govenment wasn't enough to even touch the bills let alone put it back into the economy;or save for a rainy day. With gas prices being as high as they are now it makes it harder just to get to work to pay for gas, food or other things. Besides that I didn't even get what the internt (IRS) said I was going to get back for the package. So the package was just a joke. It didn't help me or my family. I'm sure it isn't gonna help any other family out the struggles day to day. It's not living paycheck-to-paycheck it is really day to day now. The government can change this but they won't. They only help the rich get RICHER.
