The wanton murder trial of a Paducah teen involved in a fatal traffic crash could be pushed back for a second time in Benton.
According to The Paducah Sun, 19-year-old Tiffany Pittman's trial is scheduled to begin Dec. 4, but her attorneys filed two new motions Tuesday that could delay it a second time.
The defense said a motion seeks a change of venue because of pretrial publicity and because the person killed was well-known in the local community. Another motion challenges a state witness concerning Pittman's blood-alcohol level.
A crash on U.S. 68 in Marshall County in August 2011 killed 45-year-old Stephen J. "Jimmy" Harper when Pittman's car collided with his pickup truck.
The motions will be heard Monday. The commonwealth plans to oppose them.
