Helping Hands

Nearly two months ago, Timmy Duke's 17-year-old son Josh was in a car accident that left him paralyzed from the chest down.

"The car flipped and threw him out and broke his back in three places", says Duke.

Now, as Josh is returning home from an Atlanta hospital, community members are pitching in to help accomodate this young man.

"For Josh to get out of the house he's going to need some ramps and decks. This is just something that we've decided to get together and do in order to at least do our little bit to help", says MH Equipment Company Branch Manager, Bart Helson.

Helson, along with other MH Equipment Company employees, traveled to Scottsville after hearing of Josh's accident to build him a wheelchair ramp. Although many of them didn't even know the family, they still wanted to do something to help.

"This is just a small part of what they're gonna need, but anything we can do, we're willing to do as a company", says Helson.

"They don't know me from anyone else. It's great how they came over just to help us out just because we needed it", says Duke.
