Bowling Green City Schools named a new superintendent Monday morning.
Interim Superintendent Joe Tinius is the district's choise for the job.
Tinius has been with Bowling Green Independent Schools since 1978.
In his long career, Tinius has served the district as a teacher, a coach, a principal, the Supervisor of Instruction, and the Director of Transportation.
Tinius says this is the job he's always wanted with Bowling Green Independent School District.
"I am excited! Being Superintendent of Bowling Green Schools is the only superintendent job I ever wanted to pursue. This is where I feel I belong."
Tinius says he plans to move Bowling Green City Schools forward by focusing on each child everyday.
Longtime Bowling Green Schools Superintendent John Settle retired at the end of September.
