You've heard of the movie "Supersize Me," where a man eats McDonald's for 30 days with terrible results for his health.

Here is a completely different point of view - a man who ate McDonald's to lose weight.

So was he able to super-shrink himself?

"This is my gut at day one," said Chris Coleson.

Meet Chris Coleson.

For years, the Virginia man has fought a battle with the bulge.

No diet seemed to work.

Then, last December, when he tipped the scales at 278 pounds he made a bold pledge - he vowed to drop down to the 185 pounds he weighed on his wedding day by resorting to a McDonald's-only diet.

"This is the start today, day one of McDonald's healthy eating program," Chris said, in his video diary.

Unlike the 2004 documentary "Supersize Me," which showed the medical downside to frequently dining at McDonald's, Chris says his body actually benefited from the Golden Arches diet.

So much so that, for more than six months straight, he's opted to eat almost every meal at McDonald's.

His reasoning - its close proximity and some of its health-conscious entrees make it easy for him to count calories.

His usual picks, reflected in the daily McDiet journal he keeps, are salads, apple dippers, and an occasional plain cheeseburger without the bun.

He limits himself to no more than 1,400 calories a day.

The results?

Take a look for yourself.

In just six months, Chris has dropped from a size 50 to a size 36, losing more than 80 pounds.

I am so happy for the man. Its great that some people are learning that fatty food places can hold nutritious meals. America is finding more ways to get fatter than get thinner. I send him my congrats...

all he did was cut down on the carbs which is what every one should do but it would have been much healthier if he would have bought his food from a local market
