The Bowling Green Fire Department now says arson is to blame for a fire that destroyed a home rented by some WKU swimmers.
The fire broke out at 1285 Kentucky Street one week ago. The WKU students who lived there were gone for Christmas break at the time.
The fire department said the blaze was set intentionally in the back of the home. This is the third house fire in two weeks ruled as arson. All three were in close proximity to the others.
On December 16, firefighters were called to two fires that happened just blocks and minutes away from one another. One was on Park Street and the other was on Center Street.
Anyone with information about any of these fires is urged to call the Bowling Green Fire Department at 393-3702.
