Davis Cooper, Bowling Green's former Chief Financial Officer, spent millions on a lavish lifestyle full of vacations, but it was his last one that led to his downfall.
Cooper admits to embezzling money from the city of Bowling Green while he worked as the CFO. Over 20 years he took over $4 million.
Now, Cooper is in prison for eight years.
At the hearing, Cooper spoke to the crowd including many former co-workers. He said he's sorry for what he did and that he worked alone.
Cooper entered a guilty plea back in September. He will serve eight years without parole or shock probation and two years supervised release.
He will also pay restitution nearing $1.8 million, which he plans to use his retirement funds to help pay.
