Kentucky's first district congressman plans to seek another term in office.

Republican Ed Whitfield stopped at the Bowling Green/Warren County Regional Airport around noon today.

He spent the day touring much of his Western Kentucky district and announcing his plan to try and keep his job as U.S. congressman.

He talked to voters about economic development, the cost of health care, and the war in Iraq.

Whitfield's district includes Fort Campbell, home of the 101st Airborne and Special forces who are stationed in Iraq. He's been in office for eleven years.

Two Democrats have filed for Whitfield's seat-Former U.S. Representative Tom Barlow of Paducah and Jim Bloink of Scottsville. No other Republicans have filed.
