Wildlife officials are hoping you can help after someone shot a bald eagle in Hopkins County.
A $1,000 reward is being offered to anyone with knowledge that leads to the conviction of a person who shot the eagle sometime around January 12.
Fish and Wildlife officials say that someone shot the bald eagle while it was perched in a tree beside the road in the Browder Church Road area of Hopkins County.
The bald eagle is currently being treated at Raptor Rehabilitation of Kentucky in Louisville, but the injuries the eagle suffered will prevent any release back into the wild.
