Con artists pretending to be from the Social Security Administration are targeting Americans. The warning came down Tuesday. A phony email is being sent out addressed to "dear social security number card holder." It informs the recipient the he or she is the victim of identity fraud and asks them to go to a website the looks much like the Social Security Administration website, but is not. The person is then asked to reveal personal information such as pin numbers, credit card numbers and expiration dates. Officials are warning anyone who receives this email to be on alert. You're also asked to report it immediately by calling 1-800-269-0271.
