Governor Ernie Fletcher made a surprise appearance at a hospital news conference today.
He says he's feeling much better, but still had some recovering to do.
Fletcher was wearing a white robe given to him by Georgia Governor Sonny Perdue.
He walked into the news conference with his wife, Glenna, while one of his doctors was briefing the media on his condition.
Fletcher says he's conducting several official duties while hospitalized, including working on appointees to the state school board who could be named as early as this week.
Doctor Mark Dougherty says Fletcher has gone two days without a fever and seems to be improving since his gallbladder surgery last week.
