The Bowling Green City Commission heard a first reading Tuesday night on an ordinance that would give city employees a pay increase.

It provides a four percent increase for full time employees. Part-time employees would receive $0.30 more per hour and seasonal employees are up for $0.25 more per hour.

The pay increase will cost the city almost $600,000. City employees did not receive a pay raise last year.
