The Hart County Rescue Squad hosted a mock rescue at Mammoth Cave Sunday, with live victims, so they will know what to do in an emergency.
The rescue team gathered early in the morning to hear the scenario. They split up into teams in search of the victims.
Once found one "victim" was guided out of the cave, and the other suffered two broken legs and had to be carried out of the cave.
They were found about a mile and a half inside of the cave, and it took about 7 hours to get the "victim" out safely.
Andy Tucker of the Warren County Rescue Department says if you plan on caving make sure to tell someone where you will be and what time you expect to return. That way just in case something happens, help can get to you faster.
