Members of the 101st Airborne Division loaded a plane and headed to an undisclosed location in Southwest Asia. It's one of the first large groups to deploy from the base.

It was an emotion-filled day at the Campbell Army Airfield as hundreds of soldiers said goodbye to beloved family members and loaded supplies and their personal belongings onto several commercial airliners.

All three brigades from the division based at Fort Campbell are deploying for the first time since the Persian Gulf War back in 1991. The 101st is an Air Assault Division, capable of deploying soldiers anywhere in the world in 36 hours.
