A central Kentucky father who sought parenting help on a television reality show has died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound after a standoff with police.
Scott Terrill was communicating with police officers on his cell phone at the Georgetown Cemetery when he shot himself in the chest.
Police say he was standing at his father's grave when the shooting occurred on Friday.
Terrill and his two sons were featured on an episode of ABC's "Supernanny" that aired in January.
The show's star helps families deal with out-of-control children.
Richmond Police Chief Greg Reeves says four homes near the cemetery were evacuated during the standoff.
He says officers were in contact with the 37-year-old Terrill for more than an hour after he called 911 to say he planned to harm himself.
