An influential children's group suggested that some children, even those who are still in grade school could benefit from cholesterol lowering drugs.

With a nation facing what many experts call an "obesity epidemic," this might be one way to ward off future heart problems in the nation's youngest.

Now, the American Academy of Pediatrics is suggesting kids as young as eight-years-old be prescribed cholesterol-fighting drugs.

The academy has also recommended cholesterol testing for children as young as two.
