Motorists involved in minor accidents on interstate highways or parkways would have to move their vehicles off the roadway under a bill passed by the Kentucky House yesterday.
The measure would apply to non-injury accidents. The bill's sponsor, Rep. Steve Riggs of Louisville, says the proposal is meant to avoid gridlock on heavily traveled highways. Riggs says Kentucky is among just 12 states without such a law.
The measure sailed through the House on a 98-0 vote and now goes to the Senate.
