Bowling Green will soon welcome a whole host of new visitors after being named one of a dozen distinctive destinations.
The announcement was made this morning at the L & N Train Depot.
The honor is given to twelve cities each year and is sponsored by the national trust for historic destination.
The award helps get the word out that bowling green is a great place to visit.
Bowling Green is the first city in Kentucky to be chosen; past winners include Key West Florida and Bath, Maine.
The Bowling Green Area Convention and Visitors Bureau is sponsoring a VIP trip to Bowling Green in connection with the destination award.
