Three people have now recused themselves from sitting on the Supreme Court to hear a dispute on whether a special investigation into hiring practices by Governor Fletcher's administration can continue.

Two judges withdrew from the politically charged case earlier.

And one their substitutes, Jeffrey T- Burdette, withdrew today.

Fletcher responded quickly by appointing John Knox Mills, a southeastern Kentucky regional district judge.

Fletcher's other previous substitute appointee, Lexington attorney Ronald L- Green, says he intends to participate in the Supreme Court case.

State Attorney General Greg Stumbo had asked Burdette and Green to disqualify themselves because they had contributed to Fletcher's political campaigns.

The court is scheduled to hear arguments in the case Thursday.
