4 Fort Campbell Soldiers Killed

The Army says four soldiers from the Fort Campbell-based 101st Airborne Division have died in Iraq.

The Army says private Angelo A. Zawaydeh of C Company, Second Battalion, 502nd Infantry died on Tuesday in a mortar attack near a traffic control point in Baghdad. Two other soldiers died on in Iraq on Monday when they came under small arms fire and an improvised explosive device detonated during combat operations.

The two were: 27-year-old Staff Sergeant Marco Silva of Alva, Florida and 22-year-old Sergeant Corey Dan of Norway, Maine. Both were assigned to the Army's First Battalion, 506th Infantry, Fourth Brigade Combat Team, 101st Airborne Division.

The Department of Defense reports the deaths of two Fort Campbell soldiers in Iraqi. A report says they died near Ar Ramadi on Monday, when they came under small arms fire and an improvised explosive device detonated during combat operations.

The two were: 27-year-old Staff Sergeant Marco Silva of Alva, Florida and 22-year-old Sergeant Corey Dan of Norway, Maine.

Both were assigned to the Army's First Battalion, 506th Infantry, Fourth Brigade Combat Team, 101st Airborne Division.

A fourth soldier whom the Army has not identified was killed Thursday while manning an observation post in Samarra following a big helicopter-borne operation north of Baghdad. The Army has not yet released the soldiers name.

Over 130 soldiers from the 101st have now died in the Iraq War.
