Retirement Confidence

The majority of American workers think they'll be able to retire comfortably, but most aren't saving nearly enough to meet that goal.
The Employee Benefit Research Institute has come out with its annual retirement confidence survey.
It found that about 68% of workers are confident about having adequate funds for retirement.
That's up slightly from 65% in 2005.
More than half of all workers say they've saved less than $25,000 toward retirement.
One of the study's authors says the poor savings performance is especially troubling because it comes as many of the nation's employers are eliminating pensions.
