An Earlington City employee is dead after being struk by a train.
39-year-old John Bell Jr. was trimming weeds along the railroad tracks when he walked into the path of an oncoming CSX train.
State police say the accident happened just before 9 A.M. yesterday at the intersection of U.S. 41 and Kentucky 112.
The Hopkins County Coroner says the engineer sounded the train's horn before striking Bell, who was not wearing any type of ear protection.
Bell died at the Regional Medical Center in Madisonville as a result of blunt force trauma.
