State Rep. Greg Stumbo is proposing the state allow video gambling terminals at horse racing tracks throughout Kentucky.

The Prestonsburg Democrat says in a press release that he's planning to propose the legislation during the 2009 General Assembly as a way to boost revenue.

Gambling proceeds under Stumbo's bill would help fund education, reduce taxes on motor vehicles and boats and help the state's horse industry.

Stumbo is a former state attorney general.

Stumbo's bill also calls for giving oversight of the gambling machines to the Kentucky Lottery Corp.
