Governor Ernie Fletcher says he will consider vetoing certain parts of the budget passed by the General Assembly.

Fletcher's comments came yesterday during a news conference at the Capitol. He says he's concerned about the more than two billion dollars in debt the budget.

If Fletcher vetoes parts of the budget, lawmakers wouldn't be able to override those vetoes, because they used up all 60 days allotted to them under the state's Constitution.

The governor has until April 22 to veto anything in the budget. He would not say what specific projects he might veto.

Fletcher also says he may call a special session to consider tax relief legislation that would benefit smaller businesses.
