The family of a Kentucky soldiers says he has been killed in Iraq.
The family of Army Private Jason Settle say the 25-year-old died in Iraq this week when an explosive struck the Humvee he was riding in. According to the family, Settle was two weeks away from coming home on a furlough when he was killed. Settle's death was reported by the Messenger-Inquirer of Owensboro.
The Pentagon has not confirmed Settle's death.
Settle grew up in McLean County but moved to Owensboro before joining the military in May 2004. Settle is survived by his mother Sharon, his father Barry and a 5-year-old daughter.
