Associate minister, Frank Wright, says he and his secretary heard a loud pop during this morning's thunderstorm in Woodburn. They checked the church, but didn't find any damage.

It turns out the steeple had been struck by lightning. A woman passing by stopped in the office and told them the church was on fire.

There's now a hole in the roof just behind the steeple, but the fire appears to have been contained to the attic. No one was injured, and the damage estimate is not yet known.
