Peaches are ripe for picking and some area farmers want you to get out and see it for yourself.

The Kentucky Agritourism Department has begun a Farms are Fun campaign. The campaign's slogan and logo are intended to encourage people to head to the farm and buy produce at the same time.

"So much of our population anymore are city folks, 98," says Bill Jackson of Jackson's Orchard. "They still like to come see farm animals and ride wagons and do all that. We have kinda taken advantage of that and come up with Farms are Fun."

Jackson says he hopes residents will come out to area farms to see what they have to offer, whether it be an orchard, vineyard, diary farm, or farmer's market.
