Friends and family of Laura Syler, a Rafferty's employee, are gathering to remember her after she lost her fight with cancer.
Laura battled Leukemia for six years.
Now her co-workers at Rafferty's Corporate Office and the restaurant are working to keep her memory alive.
Laura's co-workers and family have formed a Relay for Life team called "Laura's Legacy" in her honor.
Laura's daughter, Laurie Holman, says: "I just hope we can raise some money and help other people going through the same struggles she has."
Those on the team say they want to keep Laura's memory alive and give back to the community.
Laura's husband, Billy Syler, says: "They're just a wonderful bunch of people. I just can't express honestly how much I appreciate everyone there."
While her family thinks Laura would be a little embarrassed about all of the attention she's now getting, they think she would be proud of what they're doing.
There are several upcoming Relay for Life" runs in South Central Kentucky.
Warren, Butler, Cumberland, Metcalfe, and Monroe counties will have runs on Friday June 2nd.
On June 9th: Adair, Ohio, Grayson, Taylor, and Todd counties will hold their races.
They are followed by Christian, Logan, and Simpson counties on Friday June 16th.
Then on June 23rd Muhlenberg County will have its race.
