If you travel along Interstate 65 you've probably seen the signs advertising for Garvin's RV Park. It's also hard to miss the crews clearing and leveling the land to prepare for the expansion.
Garvin's President, Steve Snodgrass, says: "You actually can see construction going on. This is actually what we call one of our first phases of development. We're actually putting in our access roads."
The access roads are the first of many steps that will make Garvin's one of the premier attractions in the state. Right now they are also installing electric, water, and sewer lines for the project.
Snodgrass says: "One thing you'd notice as you come I-65 southbound with our project we're trying to do the clearing to make sure it's got beautiful visibility. we want to make sure the access for RVers is very easy to say here's how we're going to get in and here's how we're going to get out."
By this time next year, developers hope to have buildings erected and open to the public. They also want to make the interchange unlike any other in the country. Snodgrass likens the Garvin's project to Walt Disney World and says when it comes to the future of Garvin's, a Disney philosophy comes to mind.
Snodgrass says: "Disney used to say as long as there is creativity and vision and dreams the project will never be complete. So I think in ten years from now, how big can we dream?"
