For the second year in a row, Lynn Reker is spearheading Warren County's Relay For Life. But it's a labor of love for this twelve year breast cancer survivor.

The American Cancer Society Relay For Life began in 1985 when a Washington State colorectal surgeon spent a grueling 24 hours circling a track to show support for all of his patients who had battled cancer. He ran more than 83 miles that night and his efforts raised $27,000.

More than 20 years later in 2006, the relay is expected to raise more than $390 million. Here in Warren County this year's goal is 172-thousand, up from 155-thousand last year.

Lynn Reker is hopeful they'll meet that goal because she knows what it's like to beat the disease, and she wants to help others beat it too.

Festivities for Warren County's Relay For Life begin Friday at five p.m. at Bowling Green High School's football stadium. This year's theme is Dr. Seuss. There will be plenty of food, games and contests to entertain walkers throughout the evening.

Opening ceremonies begin at seven p.m. and closing ceremonies will be Saturday morning at seven.
