The League of Women Voters of Kentucky says it's canceled a Senate debate for next week after Republican incumbent Mitch McConnell declined to participate.

The group invited McConnell and Democratic challenger Bruce Lunsford to take part in a televised debate planned for October 7th.

Lunsford had accepted the offer.

The debate was to coincide with the annual meeting of the Kentucky Broadcasters Association.

The two senate rivals have already met in a recent debate in northern Kentucky.

They also squared off at the Fancy Farm Picnic in far western Kentucky, and at a forum hosted by the Kentucky Farm Bureau.

McConnell and Lunsford plan to attend a debate October 23rd in western Kentucky.

Is anyone surprised that McCoward would run from the debate? He might have to answer questions about his "clout" in Washington that is about to accomplish the biggest transfer of wealth in history. The rich get richer and the rest of us get screwed! That's clout in his mind.
