The air in hallways of some local government buildings throughout the state will be getting a lot cleaner this summer.
Pike county and the city of Frankfort have already passed an order that would ban smoking in government-owned buildings.
Louisville is now considering following suit.

The General Assembly modified the law this spring to give cities, counties and special districts the power to ban smoking outright.
The change in the law won't go into effect until July 12th.
In November, Louisville passed a law that banned cigarettes, cigars and pipes in most public buildings.

Bowling Green's Mayor says in the past, the city is looking for input from restaurant owners and the community for a ban.
