The current economy and price of gas is taking its toll on many drivers, and the Go BG Shuttle here in town agrees.

For about the past year and a half, Go BG has offered a shopping shuttle on the first Saturday of each month, and officials with the service say they are seeing an increase of riders.

"I ran some data and saw that September of '07 compared to September of '08, we had an almost 48-percent increase in ridership," said Donna Tooley, Director of Transportation Services.

"The more riders we've got, the more valuable we are here in the community," said Coy Hudson, a Go BG bus driver. "It makes a little more work for us but that's what we're here for."
