A statewide search is underway tonight for a sheriff's deputy police say shot his ex-girlfriend.

State police say the victim was killed early October 5 at her home in Smiths Grove.

Tonight police are looking for 41-year-old Simpson County Deputy Randall Creek.

State police say Creek went to Debbie Rediess' Smiths Grove home a little before 8:00 a.m. and was involved in some sort of domestic dispute.

Creek's whereabouts are still unknown, but investigators believe he may be in the Louisville area, where much of their search is being focused at this time.

U.S. Marshals are working with state police.
