Some Kentucky firefighters are in the Lone Star State battling wildfires.
The Kentucky Division of Forestry has sent four firefighters and two pumper trucks to Texas to help put out the fires.
The two crews left Saturday from their home districts in Hazard, Green River, and Mayfield.
Kentucky is part of the Southeastern Interstate Forest Fire Compact, which gives states a means of sharing wildland firefighters and equipment.
Texas will reimburse Kentucky for the firefighters' time and expenses.
