The deployments are part of Kentucky’s effort to send 670 National Guard members to Arizona between July and August.
Cadet Keith Robinson says, "I think it's a really good mission. I think that there needs to be a lot of stuff to be done down there. I think we're gonna be able to handle it pretty good.
The troops will spend 21 days along the Arizona border, building twenty-foot steel barriers, fences, and roads.
