The L and N Depot in Bowling Green has added a new jewel to its locomotive collection.

The crown jewel arrived this morning to become part of the L and N Depot's Real Car Exhibit.

Chairman of Friends of L and N Depot, Larry Bailey says the 1951 Locomotive from Arkansas was completely restored in Evansville, Indiana.

And, it was quite a trip to get this locomotive to Bowling Green.

"Getting it from Evansville to Bowling Green, it first came by Mid-America Locomotive Shops, to Southwest Railroad, to CSX to Evansville, CSX brought it through Hopkinsville, Madisonville, to Guthrie, to R.J. Cores yard, R.J. Cores took it through Russellville, to Auburn, to Memphis Junction. And, this morning CSX is pulling it here to the Depot", said Bailey.

Bailey says it's taken two years to finish restoring this historic car.
