Space Shuttle Discovery will return Home

The astronauts aboard the Discovery Space Shuttle have been cleared to return to earth.

Mission control has given the green light for Discovery's landing Monday in Florida.

The decision was made after Nasa engineers reviewed images from an inspection of Discovery's wings and nose cap and concluded there was no sign of damage to the shuttle's protective skin.

Mission control also decided that a leaking unit that powers hydraulic systems used for steering and braking shouldn't pose a problem.

Showers are possible for the Kennedy Space Center Monday.

Nasa says if the weather forces a delay; it will consider using the backup landing site at edwards air force base in california.
