Kentucky's Secretary of State John Y. Brown III originally projected a 30-percent voter turnout rate for Tuesday’s primary races, but after a slow start at the polls, revised his estimate to 20-percent.

Locally, Warren County Clerk Dot Owens initially believed the turnout numbers would be in line with the statewide projection, but now believes they will be closer to 15-percent.

Precinct workers at polling stations across South Central Kentucky report a steady but slow pace.

Primary races have historically attracted a significantly smaller percentage of voters than the November elections.
