Students attending 11th Street Alternate School are now required to wear khaki pants, a white collared shirt, a belt, socks and closed toe shoes. Their shirts must remain tucked in at all times.

School officials say they had some problems with the way students were dressing last year. They hope this new rule will help provide structure and cut down on disciplinary issues.

"Last year, shirts had to be tucked in but it didn't stipulate color or writing and so it got kind-of sketchy. That's why we decided to take the guess work out of it and strictly make a new dress code that every student must follow."

Director Angela Lawler says if students choose not to follow the new dress code, they will face disciplinary action.
