Toyota Motor Engineering and Manufacturing in Georgetown, Kentucky will be slowing down one of their production lines because of the economy.
Toyota announced that starting the first quarter of 2009 they would be slowing down one of their production lines.
That means they no longer will need half of their 500 variable or temporary employees.
To Rachel Reliford's family the Toyota plant in Georgetown is more than just a place to work.
"It's my family's life, my Dad's worked there for 20 years and my fiance's worked there for a number of years", said Reliford.
One worker says he and around 80 others, even those employed for up to a decade, have been laid off within the past six weeks.
