Kentucky Governor Steve Beshear was in Bowling Green Thursday night, meeting with the people who help keep food on your plate.

Beshear spent the evening at the Barren River Livestock Center, during the regular meeting of the "Cattlemen's Association."

The Governor, who is also the Chairman of the "Agriculture Development Board" says it's important to find out what issues these men and women are facing.

"We're one of the biggest beef cow producing states and the cattlemen play a big part in making agriculture what it is for Kentucky. So we're here tonight listening to their concerns and what their needs are," says Beshear.

Beshear will continue working on behalf of agriculture tomorrow.

He will chair the Kentucky Agriculture Board meeting Friday morning at WKU's Sloan Convention Center."
