Gas Prices Reaction

Many parts of Kentucky saw a decrease in gas prices on Friday afternoon.

Some stations dropped their prices by nearly twenty cents.

Some motorists say, however, that this isn't enough.

"I think they're too high! Every weekend it seems like prices go up, closer to the weekends", says Bowling Green motorist Joyce Sacrey.

"They keep going up! I want the prices to come down", says Bowling Green motorist David Bailey.

We did find one motorist, however, who was satisfied with the gas prices in our area.

"They're alot lower than back home in Lexington. There the gas prices average $3.09, so it's alot cheaper here. That's why I'm filling up before I go back", says Lexington motorist Reggie Thomas.

Thomas says its hard to believe that gas prices are so his, especially in Lexington, where he just saw a sharp increase in prices last week.

"It had been about $2.74 and it went up thirty cents in one day!", says Thomas.

Even the drivers of the trucks that bring in this gas to the stations can't believe the recent prices.

"It hurts me just like it does everybody else", says gas truck driver David Burchett.

Burchett says people constantly ask him if the prices are going back down anytime soon, but just like other motorists he doesn't know that answer.

"Like anybody else, i'd like to see it come back down, but you never know. There's not too much we can do", says Burchett.
